The word of 2008, Green. What does green mean? Well, I just tried googleing to find the definition…and I cant, so im going to BS something, basically green means environmentally friendly.

Recently in the forums, long time member goldenfrog decided to embarq on mission to rebuild his wifes and kid’s computer with something more energy efficient. This got me thinking, with all of the Power Supply units available now a days what is the difference between a 15 dollar 400 watter, and a 50 dollar 400 watter as far as power consumption.

Originally I was going to test a Enermax 400, a Silverstone 400, and a 15 dollar cheapo 400. After I posed this article 1fast6 comes and says, why don’t you throw in an 80plus and see how that compared..”ok” I says…but wait wtf is an 80 plus? Well…according to the 80 plug website www.80plus.org

“The 80 PLUS program is a unique forum that unites electric utilities, the computer industry and consumers in an effort to bring energy efficient technology solutions to the marketplace.”
