About two months ago I bought a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP card. I knew I would be overclocking the hell out of it so I decided to look around for a good Voodoo 3 cooler for it. I stumbled across 3dfxCool.com and thought I had found the answer. By this point any of you who have bought the 3dfxCool.com Voodoo Cooler knows what I am talking about completely. I bought one of their Voodoo Coolers for $24.00us plus shipping and waited for the UPS man to show up and give me the goods.

I can not tell you how pissed off I was to find this in the box. It is two small fans, a thin strip of metal, plastic rivets, and some hot glue. The little metal strip is supposed to support the two fans against your Voodoo cards heat sink. No dice. I had to modify the thing to get it to stay in place.

As you can see after the simple modifications I made the thing is apparently easy to make at home your self. I snapped off the metal retaining bar, and fastened the fans on to the heat sink with some tie wraps. I also removed the thermal pad from the heat sink and replaced it with thermal grease. The thing performs great. I have never had heat problems with this thing, even with my fsb at 124mhz.

All you need to make your own is two small fans about the same size as the heat sink with standard four pin power adapters and two to four tie wraps. This can not cost more than $10.00us total. It is a whole lot better than the $24.00us plus shipping I paid for the thing. I suggest taking the heat sink to the store so that you don't buy the wrong size fans. It may save you a trip or two to Fry's Electronics. I know personally the less I go their the happier I am.
